Nov 13, 2019 If you hate waiting for app updates to download, then yes. That way, whenever you want to update, it'll be ready and waiting for you. Apple will never install an update without your express permission — or action! — but it'll make sure you don't have to wait when you want to install it.
anonyme4321,
Look to see whether the apps you use are listed as 64-bit application in the final column. Any apps that are listed as 32-bit may stop working if you update to macOS 10.14 when it launches in. Oct 18, 2019 Open the App Store app on your Mac. Click Updates in the App Store toolbar. Use the Update buttons to download and install any updates listed. When the App Store shows no more updates, the installed version of macOS and all of its apps are up to date. That includes Safari, iTunes, iBooks, Messages, Mail, Calendar, Photos, and FaceTime. Make sure your PC is connected to the Internet. If the Update option is missing or you're unable to update, try Microsoft Update to install your Office updates through Windows. To download an update manually, see Office Updates. If you would like to update Office but can't open any of your Office apps, try repairing your Office suite. Aug 13, 2019 Make sure you enable Gatekeeper again after installing your app, or you will leave your Mac vulnerable to attack! What to do if you can’t update or sign in to the Mac App Store If you’ve been test-driving macOS Catalina through Apple’s Beta Software Program, you might have experienced problems using the App Store on your Mac.
Thank you for your prompt reply!
I read the link to the previous discussion thread that you suggested, and this is what I did that seems to have fixed my problem:
From nbar's recommendation I did:
Open Finder, from the menu bar Go.. > Go to Folder...
copy and paste the following path: ~/Library/Preferences/
Deleted the following item:
com.apple.appstore.plist
This item was not there:
com.apple.installer.plist
Then from Carolyn Samit's recommendation I did:
Open Finder, from the menu bar Go.. > Go to Folder...
copy and paste the following path: ~/Library/Caches/
Deleted the following folder:
com.apple.appstore
So actually, thank you to all three of you!

- If any updates are available, click the Update Now button to install them. Or click ”More info” to see details about each update and select specific updates to install.
